Senior Personal Care Home Administrator, NHS Human Services - Pittsburgh, PA

Location: Pittsburgh Region

Reports to: County Director

Status: Exempt

Compensation: Negotiable

Hours: 40 hours per week

Requirements:  Master’s degree with specialty in psychology, social work, or other appropriate human service curriculum.  Must have a minimum of four years experience in the mental health field and two years of management experience.  Prefer professionals who have completed the Department of Public Welfare approved training program for PCH Administrators, residential experience also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Will provide direction and oversight to the Personal Care Home in Beaver and Allegheny County.
  • Will assist in development and overall administration of Personal Care Home budgets with On-Site Managers and Catchment Area Leadership.
  • Will provide direct supervision to On-Site Personal Care Home Managers.
  • Will assist in develop of policy and procedures, practice guidelines and outcomes for Personal Care Homes.
  • Will function as a liaison with Service Line Leadership.
  • Will work with Catchment Area and Service Line Leadership to expand existing and develop new services in this continuum.
  • Participate in and provide oversight for DQI and outcome activities.
  • Works with referral sources, MCO’s and licensing entities on an ongoing basis.
  • Must be willing to work as a full member of the PCH team to provide direct care and support to the individual residents.
  • Knowledgeable of the DPW 2600 regulations for Personal Care Homes.
  • Must embrace recovery, hope inspiring, and resiliency building approaches in managing the PCH.
  • Network with the community to build awareness.
  • Promote community collaboration and establish linkages with individual agencies in the community that will be essential to the PCH resident’s recovery.
  • Assure that the CSP Principles and Recovery Philosophy are integrated into the operations of the home and overall culture and environment of the PCH’s.
  • With On-Site Manager, responsible for maintaining the PCH licensure and assuring that the location meets all licensure requirements at all times.
  • Be prepared to flexibly adapt to the diverse situations that may arise with the type of population being served in the PCH. 
  • Provide professional support and serve as a resource, coach and mentor to staff.
  • Hire, orient, and integrate new staff.
  • Manage day to day operations of the PCH including networking with the Service Line Leadership
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Coordinate professional development activities & trainings / conferences for staff.
  • Assist in developing curriculums for individual needs / education.
  • With On-Site Manager, coordinate admissions of residents. 
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Other assigned tasks as designated by the County Director.
