Regional Outreach Manager
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has an exciting and challenging position open for a Regional Outreach Manager in Duquesne, PA . The GPCFB ‘s purpose is to make food available to hungry people in Southwestern Pennsylvania while developing community awareness and upholding Food Bank values.
Responsibilities:
Supervision of the Senior Regional Outreach Coordinator and Food Stamp Outreach Coordinator
Develop annual “action” plans with/and act as the primary liaison between Food Bank and Partner Distribution Organizations (PDO) including:
- Marketing both established and potential Food Bank services to PDO’s
- Identifying training needs of PDOs/agencies
- Conducting open houses for target audients to reach client populations
- Assisting with Agency monitoring
- Developing positive working relationships with the staff and Boards of the PDO’s
- Raising level of awareness of hunger issues in each respective county
- Using the Gap Study data, implement the objectives of the Food Bank to increase the
- availability of food assistance to those in need within the 10 county area
- Work with Outreach Director to develop budgets and strategic plans
- Research and conduct outreach activities to potential member agencies in outlying counties that have no PDO.
- Assist in the establishment and/or operation of new or existing pantries to increase the availability of food assistance to those in need.
- This position requires a large amount of travel in the southwestern Pennsylvania region.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree (Social Work, Urban Studies, Political Science) from a four year college or university, plus four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five years supervisory/management experience is required. Excellent communication skills; the ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Advanced computer skills required. Experience in advocating social issues. Detail oriented with the ability to follow through. Work schedule flexibility. Strong knowledge of southwestern Pennsylvania with emphasis on rural areas. Great amount of regional travel. Valid drivers’ license is required.
