About CUBM
The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM) is a 501(c) 3 Christian organization located in the east end of Pittsburgh. Over the past twenty years, we have offered a liberal arts curriculum from a Christian perspective to help students integrate faith and learning. Today, CUBM’s primary mission is to glorify God by educating urban students in southwestern Pennsylvania for Christian service and job mobility. Through its partnership with Geneva College, CUBM offers accredited associate degree programs in Christian Ministry and Business Administration.
CUBM serves approximately 60 students. The current CUBM student is a busy, working adult who must balance family, ministry, career, and academic responsibilities making our schedule of evening and Saturday classes attractive. Additionally, CUBM participates in a number of community outreach programs and events.
About the Position
The core duties for this newly created management position are student recruitment and administrative support and development. This position will be accountable for accelerating the growth of admissions through a successful recruitment effort including meeting recruitment objectives. It requires a convergence of skills sets typically found in project management, marketing, and administration. The Assistant Director will work in a college environment in close collaboration with the Executive Director. This position will function as part of the executive management team and act on behalf of Executive Director when director is absent from the workplace.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities
Recruitment and Program Marketing
- Develops and manages the student recruitment program
- Recommends and manages recruitment budget
- Sets, defines, and meets ambitious yet realistic goals that are aligned with organizational objectives
- Builds and maintains key community relationships for recruiting strategies
- Plans and implements an academic calendar of presentations, open houses, interviews and visitor days
- Develops, implements and tracks recruitment strategies designed to increase mass visibility in Pittsburgh
- Monitors status of all recruitment prospects and analyze statistical recruiting data to determine effectiveness of plans
- Manages the service to prospects including inquiry, processing, scheduling and advising
- Develops recruiting materials
- Structures and delegates projects to ensure timely completion by support staff
Administrative Support
- Provides executive level administrative and technical support for various tasks associated with implementation of school programs
- Responsible for management of daily operations and support staff
- Enhances customer service by developing creative solutions to improving service delivery and effectively managing staff
- Coordinates and monitors admission process and statistics
- Responsible for internal and external communications that support school and directors activities
- Available to meet with faculty and students two evening per week and one Saturday per month or as coordinated and directed by the executive director
- Plans, coordinates, and attends special events jointly with the Executive Director, such as but not limited to seminars, conferences, and fundraising efforts
- Assists with managing of partnership programs, such as the Marriage Works and other CUBM special projects
- Carry out additional duties as maybe required under the direction of the Executive Director

Personal Characteristics
The Assistant Director is professional position requiring a high-energy self-starter who can function independently with high level of accountability, take initiative, exhibit polish, professionalism, attention to detail, and flexibility coupled with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Additionally, he/she must display genuine commitment to mission of CUBM and share organization’s goal of transforming society through education for the glory of God in a setting of cultural diversity.
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in field consistent with addressing these duties
- Prior experience in education, and/or with admissions, and marketing helpful
- Ability to understand and work in a Christian academic environment
- Ability to set goals and use data daily to guide actions
- Proven ability to develop and leverage relationships
- Proven ability in program development and implementation
- Computer proficiency of Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook and IT knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with diverse audiences in an authentic, inspiring way
- Strategic thinker and self-starter who weighs initiative with necessary collaboration
- Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues
- Strong organizational skills
- Creative and innovative problem solving skills
- Strong experience in presentations
