JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Science or a related field, supplemented with courses in current technology;
  • 2+ years of solid experience in a desktop and server support capacity;
  • Experience in both managed and unmanaged environments;
  • Experience ghosting/imaging systems or related systems;
  • Experience administering Active Directory users and groups;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Experience with Windows XP/Windows 2007 operating systems;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products;
  • Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers;
  • Orientation and training of new staff;
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and tasks simultaneously;         
  • Ability to communicate well with others;
  • Valid PA driver’s license;
  • Reliable transportation;
  • Appropriate child abuse, criminal and FBI background clearances;
  • Acceptable drug and alcohol screening results.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience with Exchange Server 2007;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users;
  • Web-site development and maintenance experience;
  • Knowledge of hosted environments;
  • Blackberry/soft device desktop installation experience a plus;
  • IP phone system experience a plus;
  • Knowledge of social services organizations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs general network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail system, e-mail server, internet access, reviewing logs/backups);
    • Supports server, network and desktop hardware and software applications;
    • Performs set-up and maintenance of user workstations and supports technology vendor in maintenance of servers and peripherals (i.e. troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, etc.);
    • Perform regular virus updating and scans to approximately 40 user workstations in an unmanaged environment;
    • Maintains physical inventory of technology equipment, as well as licensing and domain registration information (counts, expiration dates);
    • Maintain agency user help desk function, supporting 25+ offices and approximately 120 users;
    • Assists with purchasing of computer equipment;
    • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research;
    • Manages small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
    • Administers agency internet access and services;
    • Support development of annual technology plan and budget;
    • Assist in development of updating of IT policies and procedures manual;
    • Support identification of staff training needs and plan regularly scheduled staff training on computer hardware and software;
    • Report weekly to supervisor;
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
